Day
01: ARRIVAL IN BANJARMASIN (D)
Meet at airport and directly transfer to hotel for check in. Next,
exploring Banjarese river civilization by taking an afternoon canal
sightseeing. Afterwards, return to hotel for overnight. Free at own
leisure.
Day 02:
BANJARMASIN, FLOATING MARKET, BALIKPAPAN, MAHAKAM RIVER (BLD)
Early in the morning, we will leave to floating market for exploring
the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to
boat, then return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin River while sightseeing
people activities on riverside. Return to Hotel, check-out, transfer to
Banjarmasin airport for flight to Balikpapan. Upon arrival at
Balikpapan airport, direct transfer by car to Loa
Janan, to board houseboat for exciting adventure on Mahakam river.
Meals provided and overnight on houseboat.
Day 03:
MUARA MUNTAI, MANCONG, TANJUNG ISUY,MUARA PAHU (BLD)
Short sight seeing at Muara Muntai Wooden village, then crossing
Jempang Lake by motor canoe to Mancong. During the cruise you could see
Rain forest and wildlife at Ohong creek like monkey’s and
birds, Upon arrival at Mancong, welcomed with a traditional ceremony by
the Dayaq Benuaq, one of the Oldest Dayak Longhouse of East Kalimantan
can be found here, Late afternoon by motor canoe to Tanjung Isuy for
sightseeing and continue to Houseboat for dinner and overnight.
Houseboat will cruise up to Muara Pahu.
Day 04:
MUARA PAHU, DOLPHIN & BOLOWAN RIVER, UPSTREAM (BLD)
Arrive at Muara Pahu, cruise up Bolowan river by canoe, along the river
bank, we see the Exotic Kutai culture collide with
the nature, after a while we will pass the proboscis Monkeys
Island, to spot these rare red endangered
longnose monkeys closely, before we move into the black water
peat swamp forest land near Semayang Lake, with
opportunities to spot the fresh water dolphins around
and move into the Bolowan River. Late
Afternoon, we continue upstream to Melak.
Day 05:
MELAK, EHENG, OMBAU ASA (BLD)
Arrive in Melak then drive to Eheng by Jeep / Minibus passing beautiful
highland to reach the old longhouse of Dayak Tunjung. Afterwards visit
Kersik Luway and explore the forest, if lucky the famous black orchid
can be seen. Afternoon to Ombau Asa waterfall, an exciting place for
swimming. Return to Melak then board to the houseboat and downstream to
Tenggarong.
Day
06: TENGGARONG, BALIKPAPAN (BL)
Arrive at Tenggarong, visiting the former palace of Sultan Kutai
Kertanegara. Where you will see the Sultan's impressive collection of
heirlooms, ceramics, Dayak's art and culture items. Afterwards by car
to Balikpapan airport for your next destination.
