National Park of East
Kalimantan has many species of animals such as wild orangutans,
Proboscis monekys, deer, crocodiles, clouded leopard, marbled Cat,
Flat-head Cat, leaf monkey, macaque, tarsier, lizards and more then 500
bird species, as several types of hornbills, sunbirds, pheasants, and
king fishers. The Kutai National Park area is about 2,000 square
kilometers, was established in 1936 by the Sultan of Kutai, and became
a National Reserve in 1970.
The
Vegetation is diverse, and include coast futures
Mangrove forest, fresh water swamp forest, and kerangas
forest.
The
ecological wealth that
survive deep within the rainforest jungle of Kutai National Park at
Indonesia ’s
largest island. Kalimantan ’s dense jungle and wide
terrain of wetlands have traditionally kept the region isolated from
all but the adventurous travelers, you can
enjoy a sightful experience of traditional culture and grand
diversity of exotic flora and wildlife from black orchids
to orangutans, and venture ashore for captivating

Orangutans
The tourist points
and
camps in Kutai park are Sangkima and Prefab, Sangkima is
located along
the raod from Bontang to Sangatta, with orangutans and large trees,
with the highlight of a more tehn 1.000 year old one. Prevab
is located
along the Sangatta River, which is about 2 hours upstream from the
bridge, or approximately 25 minutes by canoe from the closest
harbor
Kabo, which let you cruise direct in the jungle of Kutai.
Kutai
park is home to lots of mammals and birds, some
of the primates are Orangutan, several species of Leaf Monkeys,
Proboscis Monkeys, Clouded Leopard, Marbled Cat, Sun Bears, crocodiles
and lots of bird species, as Kingfishers and Hornbills
