The Mahakam River Jungle

Day 01: BALIKPAPAN (--D)

Upon arrival at Sepinggan airport in Balikpapan meeting service then transfer by car to check in Hotel, Late afternoon by canoe sailing the River into Balikpapan Bay, to spot Proboscis Monkeys, and birds, dinner at Local Restaurant.

Day 02: BALIKPAPAN, MELAK, LONG BAGUN (BLD)

After breakfast, free at own leisure till transfer time to the airport of Balikpapan for flight to Melak. On arrival at Melak, transfer by car to Tering harbor, where we board a long/Speedboat to cruise the Mahakam River upstream for about 5 to 6 hours by speedboat, while you can enjoy the scenery of villages and jungle on the way while the river narrows, Lunch en route at local restaurant, Upon arrival at Long Bagun village, check in at guesthouse, for dinner and overnight.

Day 03: LONG BAGUN, RAPIDS, TIONG OHANG (BLD)

After simple breakfast full day adventure trip by long boat an amazing adventure when we will pass the several rapids between the high lime stone rocks, standing strait in the sky, with beautifall waterfalls, and jngle scenery at the top. Meals provided enroute and overnight at long house in Tiong Ohang village.

Day 04: TIONG OHANG JUNGLE & CAVE (BLD)

After breakfast, short sightseeing in Tiong Ohang Village, possibility to trek a rocky mountain to visit the people who live in the cave, or visit the outer parts of the village where people live quite and peace full with the nature, here you can enjoy the sounds of the primary jungle, and enjoy the primitive life, without any facility, overnight at simple hut

Day 05: TIONG OHANG TRADIONAL GOLD MINING (BLD)

After breakfast, you can enjoy the river side with a cup of coffee to start the day, before we prepare to trek to a smaller river where the local community search for gold by penny the gold out of water stream of the river with a rotan plate, we will set up a base camp in the jungle, can do trekkings or do some search for gold with the locals.

Day 06: TIONG OHANG HEAD HUNTING (BLD)

Simple Breakfast, and trek to an Ancient place of the Dayak Tribe, which was used rituals of head hunting and is still a preserved and mystic place for the community, please don't touch anything as respect to the spirit to the jungle and community of the Dayak. Lunch and continue trek passing the waterfall to Tiong Ohang Village, for overnight at Local house

Day 07: TIONG OHANG, LONG PAHANGAI (BLD)

Breakfast in Tiong Ohang village,, pack our stuff and leave the village by speedboat to Long Pahangai. Long Pahangai is known of it's body art, here you can find the Long Ear and Tatoo woman of the Dayak Tribe, short sightseeing at village, trek to the waterfall, to set up our camp side and try to catch fish for our dinner. Overnight at jungle camp

Day 08: LONG PAHANGAI, MAHAKAM RIVER, MELAK (BLD)

After simple breakfast by Long boat downstream Mahakam River passing the rapids. On the way you will enjoy the scenery of fascinating rocks, mountains and prime forest along the river, at Long Bagun we will transit for a speedboat downstream to Tering Harbor to continue by car to Melak, lunch and dinner on the way at local restaurants, Overnight at Hotel in Melak.

Day 09: MELAK, BALIKPAPAN (BL-)

In the morning breakfast at hotel, until transfer time to Melak airport, for your flight to Balikpapan, where you can connect to your next destination ( late afternoon arrival).
