Day 01: BALIKPAPAN, SANGATTA (-LD)

Upon arrival at Balikpapan airport of East Kalimantan, meet and great of your tour guide before start the adventure transfer of about seven hours passing hilly forest highlands, plantations, villages, and the Equator on your way to Sangatta. Check in at Hotel, for dinner and overnight.

Day 02: SANGATTA, KUTAI NATIONAL PARK (BLD)

Breakfast at hotel, transfer to harbor to cruise by motor canoe upstream the Sangatta River into the remote rain forest of towering Dipterocarpus trees of Kutai Park Reserve. At arrival at the Morio guesthouse along the river in the Jungle, is our first experience of noisy wildlife sounds of the active animals who hide in all corners of the park, we urge to start the jungle trek over the skinny trails into the forest, looking for the wildlife and Orangutans as Borneo heritage. Afternoon return to our camp for Lunch and short rest, to continue later the afternoon with another forest trek over a different off the beaten track path to explore the tropical Rainforest flora and fauna. Dinner and overnight at Morio jungle guesthouse. Possibility to do a night trek.

Day 03: KUTAI RESERVE, SANGATTA, TALISAYAN (BLD)

After Breakfast we can do another trek, before we catch the canoe downstream to Sangatta to continue our journey overland for about seven hours passing hilly rain forest and plantations to the coastal line of Berau regency, lunch and dinner en route at local restaurants, overnight at hotel Talisayan.

Day 04: WHALE SHARK, SANGALAKI, KAKABAN, MARATUA (BLD)

Early Breakfast at hotel, by boat transfer to the whale shark point, possibility to snorkel or swim with the whale sharks (but please don’t touch) to continue by speedboat to Sangalaki white beach Island, known of its Mantas Rays, and Turtle Beach, and many kinds of exotic fish species as, Napoleons, purple sea horses, tunitates, dwarf scorpion fishes, which hide in the Coral Sea Garden. Continue by speed boat to the neighboring Kakaban Island, known of its yelly fish fringed lake. For Divers, The Dive points around the islands as the barracuda Point has sharks, leopards fish, tunas, snappers and large schools of barracudas, the Blue Cave point is a cave of about 120 meters long with at the end a Blue sea light, for the well experienced divers. Continue by speed boat to Maratua Island, Lunch, dinner and overnight at the beach Resort.

Day 05-06: MARATUA ISLAND (BLD)

Breakfast at Resort, possibility of free at own leisure at the terrace to overlook the blue lagoon sea, soaking the swimming pool, or snorkeling the see reefs in front of the resort, kayaking the salt lake near the resort, or cycling the mangrove forest towards the Bajau fishermen’s villages at the island, dinner and overnight at Maratua Island Resort.

Day 07: MARATUA, BERAU (B--)

Breakfast at Resort, free at own leisure, enjoy the beauty of the long white stretched beaches and blue lagoon sea before heading up by speedboat to Berau harbor, Transfer by car to Berau airport where you can connect with your onward flight to your next holiday destination.
