Day 01:
PANGKALANBUN, CAMP LEAKEY ORANGUTAN (D)
Upon
arrival at Iskandar Airport of Pangkalanbun, meeting service and
transfer to Kumai harbor to board klotok boat cruising up
Sekonyer
River. Along the river you can enjoy the beautiful jungle flora
&
fauna, of low land rainforest which is home to orangutans,
proboscis monkeys, gibbons, lots of birds species and other
wonderful
creatures of Kalimantan.
Day 02:
PONDOK TANGGUI, CAMP LEAKEY (BLD)
Having
Breakfast with the nature sounds of birds arround, then we leave for a
visit to Pondok Tanggui, an Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre up
Sekonyer River, afterwards proceed to Camp Leakey, the oldest research
and rehabilitation centre for Orangutans in Indonesia. During the
Trekking through the tropical rainforest you will enjoy the
wildlife
which will head up unexpectly, beside the exotic tropical
flora of
vegatation, as wild orchid and pitcher plants, afterwards return to
Klotok Boat for dinner and overnight.
Day
03: TANJUNG PUTING, PANGKALANBUN, BANJARMASIN (BLD)
Enjoy
your breakfast while we cruise downstream the jungle of Sekonyer River
return to Kumai harbor, for transfer to Pangkalanbun airport
to catch your flight to Banjarmasin. Upon
arrival at Banjarmasin
airport, transfer to hotel for check
in. Afternoon we will cruise by canoe Barito River which split
Banjarmasin City to the Island Bakut, a small Island in the Barito
River with exotic forest and wildlife as proboscis monkeys, during the
canoe cruise we can see the activities of locals along the riverside,
as Kalimantan is the land of Rivers, In the evening Dinner at Local
Restaurant and free at leisure for sightseeing in down-town
Banjarmasin.
Day 04:
FLOATING MARKET, BALIKPAPAN, SAMARINDA, MAHAKAM RIVER (BLD)
Early
in the morning, we will visit the floating market of Banjarmasin as
being part of Kalimantan ’s
river-life, here we can explore the unique culture of Banjarese who
trade commodities as fruit, and vegetables from boat to boat.
Afterwards we return to the hotel, check-out of the Hotel, transfer to
Banjarmasin airport, for your flight to Balikpapan, upon arrival at
Balikpapan airport, direct transfer by car to
Samarinda harbor Loa Janan, to board the houseboat, and cruise upstream
the mighty River. Dinner and overnight at Houseboat.
Day
05: MUARA MUNTAI, JEMPANG LAKE, TANJUNG ISUY, MANCONG, JANTUR (BLD)
Breakfast
on board of the houseboat, while harboring Muara Muntai wooden village,
an fishermens village with transit facilities over the big lakes
Jempang and Semayan, sightseeing at village, then by motor-canoe
navigate the huge Jempang lake to cruise into the Ohong creek, of
tunnel of lowland rain forest, where we can enjoy the wildlife as
proboscis monkeys, and water birds as the kingfisher, at mancong we are
welcomed by Dayak ceremony in front of the collorfull
longhouse of the Dayak Benuaq tribe, return via Ohong creek to Tanjung
Isuy village for sighseeing and Longhouse, then we proceed to Jantur
Banjarese village as a native south Kalimantan tribe, settled
for trading the fish throughout Kalimantan, sightseeing at this unique
village, at the delta of the Jempang lake, continue by motor-canoe
to the houseboat, when lucky the irrawady fresh water dolphins
can be seen on the way, boarding houseboat for downstream Mahakam
River. Lunchbox en route, dinner and overnight at Houseboat.
Day
06: TENGGARONG, SAMARINDA, BALIKPAPAN, DEPARTURE (BL)
Breakfast
While harboring the Kutai Sultan city Tenggarong,
visit the Museum with historic heritage treasures of the Sultan of
Kutai which was is one of the oldest Hindu Kingdoms of Indonesia, with
an impressive collection
of heirlooms, ceramics, Dayak's art and culture items,
before we continue downstream to Samarinda harbor, to continue by car
to Balikpapan airport from where you can catch your flight to your next
destination.
